Tell us about your football history (Min 100 words) : My footballing history has been a great challenge as I have experienced all leagues in the Southampton Tyro 11-a-side. During my 11-a-side career I have won the division 2 league with Oakwood in 2007, won the annual 6-a-side tournament with the team in 2008 by beating arguably the best side in Hampshire. When I started my footballing career I was only 7 when I joined Oakwood Colts when we were in division 1 at the time, we then got relegated (Before I played a game) so the next year was the biggest challenge of all our life's as we were faced with the task of wanting to get straight back into the top flight. I then stayed with oakwood until I was 13 and felt that my time there had come to an end, winning 2 titles and player of the season. I then went on to 5-a-side (where I still play now on a Monday night) and out team came to the Semi-Finals of the Adults cup considering we were only 13 at the time it was a great achievement for all of us. After a year of that I realized I wanted to play 11-a-side again and by the Oakwood in Division 1 folding, me and 14 others decided to make a team as a tribute to them called Oakwood u15s where we would train 2 times a day and got a very experienced group of individuals (Including Southampton FC coaches for a few months) and we put all of our effort into it. I captained the Oakwood u15s side to a 3rd place finish in Division 4 which for a first season with a team made 3 weeks before the deadline of entries was a huge achievement. At Oakwood u15s I picked up the coaches player of the year, a man of the match award, Joint player of the year and got awarded with the most caps in the season as I played every game for our team. So overall I feel that my footballing history is very experienced and enhances my chances of my ever going dream to play football as a career.
Write about your Playing Ability (Min 50 words) : My playing ability I feel is very vast as I am able to comfortably play in a justified 16 positions (GK, LWB, LB, CB, RWB, RB, RM, RW,RF, CDM, CM, CAM, LM, LW, LF, CF). I feel that I can adapt to any footballing side in almost every position. I feel that I am a natural leader of the locker room and get the job done. By being 6ft2 I am an aerial threat when attacking and can easily win the ball in defence. I have natural instinct that lets me know what the right thing to do is as I take into account my surroundings, the attacker, my team-mates and myself.
Why should an Academy Director give you a trial (Min 50 words) : I feel that an Academy Director should give me a trial because I feel that I am a very experienced player that can adapt to many positions, teams and situations. I use my height to my advantage and come with a lot of pace too which is ideal for my role as a Centre back. I am a confident individual that leads the locker room and uses my optimism to reflect onto my team-mates for a high morale and good results. For being 16 I have a lot of experience working with almost every type of player. I feel that I am the player that Academies need in their team as I bring in experience to the side and can lead. I can take criticism and can read footballing situations very well, I always aspire to do better for myself and the club I am playing for. I'm confident that if an Academy Director gave me just one trial, they will not regret it because I will always do my best (and then some). Overall I feel that I am a natural born leader that can read in-game situations both with footballing knowledge and instinct which make me a very successful defensive football player. Academy Directors won't regret giving me a trial as I am confident, a leader, a good reader of in-game situations, adaptable to positions, formations, tactics, atmosphere and the players that I am proudly playing with.
