Tell us about your football history (Min 100 words) : Represented Rugby Town FC at academy level playing in the Midland Junior Premier League playing against teams such as Birmingham City and Tamworth. I have also played for Barwell FC at under 18 level playing against teams such as Saffron Dynamo whilst also starring in a team that reached the 2nd round of the FA Youth cup against Boston FC. At the age of 18, I went to university in Southampton and was offered the opportunity to play semi-professional football for a team playing in the hampshire area but had to decline due to my academic studies. At the age of 20, I have completed my degree and I am looking for the opportunity to play football at a professional or semi-professional level.
Write about your Playing Ability (Min 50 words) : I am an ultra competitive individual who is predominantly right footed but I am more than adept to be able to use my weaker foot. I thoroughly enjoy the passing style of play in midfield and I excel best at receiving and being on the ball as well as passing to others, moving into space and bringing team mates into play. I am very much a team player and I like to get forward whenever I possibly can in order to create chances for team mates to score and myself on the odd occasion! Although I am under 6ft tall, I am not afraid to tackle and the aggressive side of the game. I take great pride in winning the ball by maintaining a high work rate, pressuring and closing down opposition players in possession of the ball and intercepting passes from others.
Why should an Academy Director give you a trial (Min 50 words) : If I could paraphase a quote that Liverpool FC legend Bill Shankly once said: "Some people believe football is a matter of life and death, I am very disappointed with that attitude. I can assure you it is much, much more important than that.” I live and breathe football like many other people around the world but I have never had the opportunity to attend or be invited to a football trial before to establish whether I am good enough to play for a professional team. I feel that I have to attend football trials in the near future in order to gain some sort of closure instead of reflecting back on "what could have been". I do feel that given the chance, I have got the passion, determination, hard working positive attitude and shear persistence to be able to earn a career as a football player and I am more than willing to make that step up into the professional game. Thank you for reading my "football CV" and I look forward to hearing from you in the future.
