SAM GAINFORD LIVERPOOL FC ACADEMY PLAYER

Sam Gainford (born 14 November 1994) is an English footballer who plays for the Liverpool Academy and reserves as a midfielder.

Liverpool recruited winger Gainford at the age of 10, and he has progressed through the Academy ranks to become a first year scholar with the under-18s for the 2011-12 Academy Under 18s season having tallied an impressive number of goals and assists with the under-16s. Gainford- described by the Liverpool coaching staff as a 'tricky' winger- is capable of playing anywhere across the attacking midfield line- comfortable on either flank and capable in the centre. He currently frequents the starting XI for the under-18s, and has also made the matchday squad for the reserves this season.
