JAKUB SOKOLIK LIVERPOOL FC ACADEMY PLAYER
Jakub Sokolik (born 28 August 1993) is a Czech footballer who plays for the Liverpool Academy and Reserves as a defender.
Liverpool signed Czech centre back Jakub Sokolik from Czech club Banik Ostrava in 2009. Sokolik has appeared for both the under-18s and the Reserves, with his Reserve team debut coming in the mini-derby against Everton in the 2010-11 season, in which he produced an excellent display against Everton's senior striker Victor Anichebe. Despite this however, he failed to rack up many appearances for either side for some time. His under-18s bow didn't come until midway through the 2011-12 season when he and Ryan McLaughlin came in for Peter Aylmer and the departed Tom King as partners to Joseph Rafferty and Matty Regan in a reshuffled backline. Sokolik retained his place for the close of the season and performed well, netting his first goal for the side in a 4-1 loss to Middlesbrough on 3 March 2012.
